Jaipur: RLP chief Hanuman Beniwal made a sensational allegation against senior BJP leader and former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and her close political aide Yunus Khan, accusing them of favouring Congress candidate in Khinwsar by-elections.

Beniwal said that despite the fact that there was an alliance between BJP and RLP, the former chief minister left no stone unturned to ensure the defeat of his brother Narayan Beniwal. He said that Yunus camped in his constituency area for seven days and was openly involved in lobbying for the Congress candidate.

In the by-elections, Narayan Beniwal emerged victorious. Beniwal said that only 35% of the BJP’s votes were cast in favour of his brother. The remaining votes went to the Congress candidate which brought down the margin of victory substantially.

BJP state president Satish Poonia rubbished these allegations and said that Beniwal should keep the dignity of BJP-RLP alliance in mind when issuing such baseless statements.

“He should focus on his party affairs. There is no need for him to pay attention to what is happening in the BJP. He should stay away from making such allegations,” said Poonia.
