Reliance Jio Fiber launched in Mumbai; 3 things you need to know

Amid reports that some areas in Mumbai have been connected with Jio Fiber, this latest service by Reliance Jio Infocomm is likely to take the infocom industry by storm. It will soon be rolled out in other cities.

If you are planning to subscribe to the service called the Fiber to the Home or FTTH, here is what you need to know:

• The company is offering three months of free and unlimited high speed internet completely free of cost. It’s a part of the company’s introductory offer.
• The company is yet to announce monthly subscription charges that users will pay after consuming internet free of cost for three months.
• The company claims that users will enjoy internet speed up to 1Gbps; however, subscribers in Mumbai who are using Jio Fiber were quoted saying that they were getting an internet speed of up to 100Mbps.

Reliance Jio will also launch a feature phone with 4G VoLTE support surfaced online.  They will cost just Rs 999 and Rs 15,00. The phones will have Jio apps including Jio Chat, Live TV and video-on-demand installed.
