Rajasthan records 1287 COVID-19 cases in a day; 67 in Jaipur

Jaipur: A record number of COVID-19 cases were reported in Rajasthan on Saturday. As many as 1287 people tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 67 are from Jaipur – the lowest in the past two weeks. The virus is spreading at a faster rate in some other districts including Alwar (129), Bikaner (138), Jodhpur (161) and Kota (116).

The total number of cases are to cross 60,000-mark in the state. It has gone up to 59,979. The active cases in the state now stand at 13,863. As many as 16 deaths were reported in the city on Saturday, taking the death toll to 862.

  • Amer – 1

  • Tonk Phatak – 1
  • Govindgarh – 1
  • Vidhyadhar Nagar – 4
  • Chandpole – 2
  • Tilak Nagar – 1
  • Mahesh Nagar – 3
  • Purani Basti – 1

Jodhpur and Alwar continue to be the epicentres of the virus spread. People not following social distancing and other guidelines are being blamed for the rapid spread of the virus in these districts.
