Rajasthan lags behind other states in launching RERA-registered housing projects

Real State Regulatory Authority (RERA) has registered nearly 2100 housing projects so far

JAIPUR: Rajasthan was the first state in the country to introduce RERA but in terms of launching housing schemes, it’s lagging behind other states. 

Real State Regulatory Authority (RERA) has registered nearly 2100 housing projects so far.  compared to Rajasthan, Gujarat has registered more than 10,000 housing projects. Most of the projects registered under RERA in Gujarat have been completed and possession of housing units has been given to buyers and investors. 

In Maharashtra, more than 38,000 projects have been registered under RERA. Maharashtra is also leading in terms of disposing of complaints. More than 12,000 complaints that were received against real estate developers and builders have been disposed of.

Rajasthan has registered 4131 agents under RERA and disposed of 2079 complaints that were received against builders.

In Uttar Pradesh, 3304 projects have been registered under RERA. Uttar Pradesh is the leading state in terms of disposing of complaints. More than 40,000 complaints have been disposed of so far.

In Madhya Pradesh, 4534 projects have been registered under RERA, while 5243 complaints have been disposed of. Punjabi is lagging behind Rajasthan in terms of the number of registered RERA projects. Only 1200 projects have been registered under RERA in Punjab while 2740 complaints have been disposed of.
