Rajasthan high court denies bail to IAS officer Rao in corruption case

Jaipur: The Rajasthan high court denied bail to the former Baran district collector and IAS officer Inder Singh Rao, who was arrested by the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in an alleged bribery case in December.
Rao was arrested following the arrest of personal assistant (PA) was caught taking a bribe of Rs 1.40 lakh for issuing NOC to a petrol pump. The ACB later found that PA had taken the bribe on behalf of Rao.
The IAS was arrested and taken into custody for interrogation. The state government had suspended Rao, the ACB also filed a detailed charge sheet against the accused at a local court in Kota on February 5. The ACB said that their investigation into the case will continue even after the submission of the charge sheet.
The ACB said that sleuths were investigating Rao’s possible collusion in other graft cases. He has been in jail since December. According to ACB, they have made 19 people witness in their 500 pages long charge sheet that details how to bribe was demanded by Rao and his PA.
