Jaipur: Rajasthan government has received nearly 80,000 applications from senior citizens who want to avail the free pilgrimage scheme benefits. The government had sought applications under the Deendayal Upadhyay Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme. The last date for applying online is June 20.

Senior officials of Devasthan Department said that 30075 applications have been received from senior citizens looking to go on a free pilgrimage by travelling by flights. On the other hand, nearly 50,000 people have applied for pilgrimage by travelling by trains. More than 5500 applications have been received from Jaipur alone.
If you too are planning to apply online under the Deendayal Upadhyay Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme, here is what you need to do:

Go to the Rajasthan government’s Devasthan department website. Click on the following link:

http://devasthan.rajasthan.gov.in/

Click on the ‘Teertha Yatra Avedan link’.

If you have a Bhamashah card, enter your Bhamashah ID. If you don’t have one, you should click on the link for the same.

Fill up the form and submit.

You will participate in the lottery.

A Devasthan department officer said that those who have already gone on a pilgrimage under the scheme won’t be eligible again for the pilgrimage in 2018.

Those who will travel by train can bring along an assistant if their age is 70 years or more. The help’s age should be between 21 years and 50 years. Those travelling by air won’t be entitled to take anyone with them.
