Rajasthan bags 3rd rank in country in SKOCH State of Governance Report – 2022

Rajasthan holds the highest rank in the nation in health, social justice and social security, and housing categories.

JAIPUR: Rajasthan has reported a significant improvement in its ranking in the SKOCH State of Governance Report-2022, where the state has leaped from the 15th to the third position at the national level. As per this report, Rajasthan has bagged a total of 20 awards, including 8 Gold and 12 Silver.

The SKOCH State of Governance report is an annual report that studies project-level outcomes across various states of India

The report mentions that out of the 78 projects in the state deemed worthy of the Order of Merit by SKOCH, 8 projects are in the highly impressive category, and 12 are in an impressive category. Furthermore, the state has displayed extraordinary performance in 23 distinct categories.

Rajasthan holds the highest rank in the nation in health, social justice and social security, and housing categories. The state has made notable progress in e-governance and water, while its performance in the transport category has been consistently commendable.

Over half of the 78 projects in Rajasthan featured in the SKOCH Order of Merit pertain to education, e-governance, general administration, police and security, skill development, and social justice and security sectors. Three projects each from agriculture, minority affairs, revenue, and urban development have secured a place in the SKOCH Order of Merit list, while five health category projects have made it to the list.

The report highlights that Rajasthan has advanced to the second position in e-governance this year, compared to the seventh position last year, and has moved from the fourth to the second position in water. The state maintains its first rank in the housing category and fourth rank in the transport category.

On the other hand, Rajasthan ranks first in health, social justice and social security, second in women and child development, third in agriculture and skill development, fifth in the education sector, and sixth in general administration, urban development, and energy categories.

The report notes that even in sectors where the state participated for the first time, it has managed to secure top positions. Rajasthan has achieved the second position in cooperatives, ease of doing business, infrastructure, tourism and culture, fourth in revenue, disaster management, sports and youth, animal husbandry and fisheries, and seventh in police and security.

In 2022, special emphasis was given to agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries, cooperatives, ease of doing business, education, e-governance, general administration, health, infrastructure, minority affairs, police and security, energy, revenue, skill development, social justice and security, sports and youth, tourism and culture, urban development, and women and child development sectors, as mentioned in the report.
