Jaipur: Facing sexual harassment allegations from some woman colleagues, additional director of agriculture department, Sheetal Prasad Sharma, was dismissed from service just 18 days before he was to retire, according to local media reports. The department of personnel has reportedly issued an order expelling him from the service after a probe was initiated against him on the allegations of sexual harassment.
The department had formed a probe committee after the news of the allegations was published in local newspapers. The committee prepared a report and sent it to the department of personnel for further action in the matter.
The department of personnel also verified the facts in the report and after getting a go-ahead from the chief minister, issued the orders to expel Sheetal Prasad Sharma from the service. Three women had allegedly complained to the chief minister about sexual harassment.
The department of personnel secretary Bhaskar A Sanwat was quoted as saying that Sharma has been expelled. He won’t pension and other benefits.
