Jaipur: The state government has expelled Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) chairman DP Jaroli who was in the midst of controversy surrounding the REET paper leak case. Jaroli was being criticized for his negligent handling of the examination. BJP MP Dr Kirori Lal Meena had accused him of corruption and direct involvement in leaking the paper.

The decision was taken by chief minister Ashok Gehlot after a high-power committee meeting late on Friday. The meeting was attended by education minister BD Kalla, additional chief secretary of the home department, DGP and SOG chief.

Gehlot also directed the officials to suspend employees who are found involved in the leak. They would be expelled from service once the suspicions against them are proved during the investigation.

Chief minister Gehlot also instructed the officers to set up a committee headed by a retired high court justice. The committee will find loopholes in the current examination process and recommend ways to fix it so that there could be a check on the paper leaks. There had been allegations that papers were leaked for the most prominent recruitment exams held in Rajasthan recently.

Rajasthan special operations group (SOG) is currently investigating the REET paper leak case and has so far arrested 35 people including the one who stole the paper from the strong room of Shiksha Shankul in Jaipur and sold it to Bhajan Lal. Bhajan Lal has also been arrested.
