Poornima University hosts HR Conclave on ‘Challenges and Opportunities in the Era of AI’

JAIPUR: In a bid to equip students with knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an AI-dominated job market, the Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering (FCE), Poornima University (PU), Jaipur organized a HR Conclave and Panel Discussion.

The event, themed ‘Challenges and Opportunities for Students in the Era of Artificial Intelligence’ was held in collaboration with PU-INCENT and COE-Machine Learning Applications for Society, PU.

The speakers who were present on the occasion, include Srinivas Katkoor, Director-HR, SAS; Manjusa Awate, Head- BSG, Xoriant; Arun Kumar Singh, HR Head, Shriram General Insurance Company Limited; Dipen Shah, Head- Consulting, Nupeak; Himesh Sharma, Director- Skillabs; Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of PU; Dr. Manoj Gupta, Pro-President, PU and Dr. Chandni Kirpalani, Registrar, PU.

The objective of the HR Conclave and Panel Discussion was to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving job market shaped by advancements in artificial intelligence.

The panel speakers discussed the real-world applications of AI, sharing successful case studies and collaborative opportunities for students. Addressing concerns surrounding AI, panelists engaged in dialogue on ethical considerations, privacy issues, and the potential impact on employment.

Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy said that such industry conclaves play a key role in shaping students’ growth trajectories. Dr Manoj Gupta shared his thoughts on the rapid advancements in AI technologies, its potential to revolutionize industries and redefine career trajectories. He said that AI’s transformative impact will be felt on various sectors, from healthcare to finance. He also talked about its potential to drive innovation and economic growth.

Dr. Ajay Khunteta, Dean of FCE, highlighted the importance of holistic education in preparing students for the AI-driven future. He stressed the need for a balanced focus on technical skills, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning. At closing, student winners of the project expo ‘Prayogam-24’ were honored by the panel of experts. Shikha Sharma concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
