Over 1 lakh ‘fake’ voters found in Jaipur district during verification

Most fake voters have been found in assembly constituencies of Sanganer, Kishanpole and Vidhyadhar Nagar. These statistics were revealed by auto scanning software run by election department.

Jaipur: The district election department conducted a Demographic Similar Entry (DCE) survey of 10 lakh voters in Jaipur and one out of every 10 voters in 19 constituent assemblies has been found to be bogus or enrolled multiple times in different constituencies. The survey was conducted after the department received several complaints from opposition political parties in relation to fake voters. An auto scanning software of the election commission identified 1,12,000 fake voters in Jaipur.

Most fake voters have been found in assembly constituencies of Sanganer, Kishanpole and Vidhyadhar Nagar. These statistics were revealed by the auto scanning software run by election department.

Around one lakh twelve thousand fake voters were traced after the verification of 10 lakh voters. In each constituent assembly, nearly 3000 to 13,000 voters had multiple entries in different voters list.

The district administration has ensured to remove these fake voters from the voters’ list before the upcoming assembly elections.

According to officials, fake voters have also been traced on multiple entry parameters with death, shifted and migration.

People with multiple entries in the different assembly constituency have been found at different places and they will be removed from the voters’ list before the upcoming assembly elections, said Siddharth Mahajan, District Electoral Officer.
