Jaipur: Only online bookings for tiger safari at Ranthambore National Park of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan will be accepted now. The park authorities have discontinued offline or ‘on-the-spot’ booking for tiger safari at the park.

No on-the-spot booking will be entertained for tourists at Ranthambore National Park from December 21. The visitors will need to book tiger safari online, announced the authorities on Thursday.

According to Ranthambore officials, the process of making online booking mandatory has been going on for the past few months.  It was delayed due to some technical issues. But now the process has been completed and the visitors will have to book tiger safari online prior to visiting Ranthambore Park. No ‘on the spot’ booking will be entertained from December 21.

The online booking opened at 10 am on Friday, which will continue till the safari timings.

For the morning safari timing, the online bookings can be made till 6:30 am and for the noon shift, the tiger safari can be booked till 3 pm.

“The decision to shift the Ranthambore booking process from offline to online was taken for the convenience of the visitors and tourists. Several visitors complained about the long queues at the ticket window so the department made the process online,” said forest officials.
