Jaipur: Senior most IPS officer of Rajasthan Kapil Garg assumed office of Director General of Police (DGP) at police headquarters in Jaipur on Friday. He is replacing OP Galhotra.
DGP Kapil Garg took a meeting of the senior police officers at Police Headquarters and gave necessary directions to them.
Garg’s relatives and family members including his wife Rachna Garg were present on the occasion.
Several senior police officers including Additional Chief Secretary Shailendra Agarwal, Additional Advisor Bhupinder Yadav, Rajiv Dasot, Mohanlal Lathar, BL Soni, Bhupinder, Umesh Mishra, Neena Singh, DC Jain, Sanjay Agarwal, and Amrut Kalash were also present on the occasion.
Newly appointed DGP of Rajasthan Kapil Garg said while addressing the police officers at police headquarters on Friday, ‘We all play an important role in making Rajasthan safe and secure. Together we can take the department to new heights. For this, every person has to give the best in performing his or her responsibilities. We have to develop trust among citizens and should make the police ‘public friendly’.
‘The police will be technically strengthened. We will also pay special emphasis to the prevention of cybercrimes. He said that effective action will be taken against criminals according to the Rajasthan Police’s motto, “Faith among people, fear among criminals”.
He further mentioned that the special attention will also be given to prevent the crime against women and weaker sections. Describing the incidents like mob lynching as a disgraceful crime, he said that strict action will be taken against those who take the law in their hands.
