Monthly pension of freedom fighters in Rajasthan increased to Rs 25000

Earlier, the monthly pension for freedom fighters was Rs 20,000 and for the soldiers of World War II, it was Rs 4000.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday announced to increase the monthly pension of freedom fighters in Rajasthan to Rs 25000 and medical allowance to Rs 5000. He made this announcement on the occasion of 91st birth anniversary of Gandhian thinker Dr. S.N. Subba Rao.

The Medical allowance for the freedom fighters has also been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 per month.CM Gehlot felicitated ex-freedom fighters from the state during the event.

CM Gehlot in his announcement said that with the increase in pension and allowance for freedom fighters, a museum dedicated to the Mahatma Gandhi will soon be established in Jaipur in order to convey his teachings and principles to the people.

Also, the monthly pension of the soldiers and war widows from the World War II has also been increased to Rs 10,000, added Gehlot.

Earlier, the monthly pension for freedom fighters was Rs 20,000 and for the soldiers of World War II, it was Rs 4000.

As per the state government’s decision, approximately 1.74 crore families of Below Poverty Line (BPL) will be given wheat at the price of Rs 1 per kg.
