Father-son duo dies in road accident on Agra Road

The overloaded truck was trying to overtake the bike when the mishap occurred. The victims were crushed under the wheels of the truck after the collision. Locals blocked the Jaipur-Agra highway after the incident alleging that due to lack of speed breakers, the accidents were being reported frequently.

Jaipur: A 30 year old man, identified as Rajendra Prasad Sharma and his nine year old son, were killed in a road accident on Agra Road near Kanota in Jaipur on Friday.

An overloaded truck collided with the deceased bike. The overloaded truck was trying to overtake the bike when the mishap occurred. The victims were crushed under the wheels of the truck after the collision. Locals blocked the Jaipur-Agra highway after the incident alleging that due to lack of speed breakers, the accidents were being reported frequently. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot.

The victims have been identified as Rajendra Prasad Sharma (30) and his nine year old son Divyanshu. They were the resident of Kundal and had been living in Mangal vihar of Jaamdoli for the past 10 years. Rajendra was working as an accountant at a private firm in Jaipur.

According to the police, Rajendra with his son on a bike was going to Kanota to visit a relative’s house on Friday.  The truck tried to overtake their bike.

While overtaking, the truck collided with the deceased bike and they lost balance. Rajendra and his son were crushed under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot. The truck driver fled away from the spot after the incident. Locals gathered and started demonstrating accusing police and administration of negligence.

Police rushed to the spot and informed the family members. They took bodies to the hospital for a postmortem examination and handed over the bodies to the relatives of the deceased.
