Kota: ACB arrests 2 commercial tax officials for taking bribe in Ramganj Mandi

Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two commercial tax officials of Kota district after they were allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Wednesday. The trap was conducted on the basis of a complaint filed by Vikas Kumar Garg, a firm owner in Ramganj Mandi.

The two accused are additional commercial tax officers – Pritam Kumar Sharma and ATC Bhagwan Sahai Meena of Ramganj Mandi in Kota district of Rajasthan.

According to ACB officials, Vikas Kumar Garg, a resident of Rajganj Mandi, filed a complaint with ACB on August 31 against tax commercial officer Preetam Sharma and Bhagwan Meena for demanding a bribe of Rs 40,000 regarding his firm ‘Pooja Paper Plate’.

After receiving the information, ACB verified the complaint and when it was found genuine, they set up a trap against the two accused officials on Wednesday. Accused Pritam Kumar Sharma was caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Vikas Kumar. He was arrested by the ACB team on the spot while taking the bribe. The involvement of accused Bhagwan Meena was also found in the case. Police arrested him too.

Both officials were booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. ACB officials said further investigation is going on. Searches are being conducted at the office , residence and other places belonging to them.
