Joggers confused over Central Park timing

Jaipur: The city’s Central Park is the most favourite destination for joggers, but there is confusion about the timing. Most joggers don’t know when the park opens and when it closes for visitors. The authorities said the park is closed for joggers by 8 am; however, the golf club situated on the park premises opens till 4 pm. Many regular joggers cried foul over this, saying that the timing should be the same for both places.

The Rajasthan government had recently eased the lockdown restrictions and allowed malls, gyms and parks to open till 4 pm. All the major parks managed by the civic bodies in the city including Central Park are allowed to open from 5 am to 8 am. The timing for yoga centres and gyms is now from 6 am to 4 am, but the parks are closed by 8 am.

“I regularly go to Central Park, but it closes for visitors by 8 am. The golf club that is situated on the same premises is allowed to open till 4 pm. When gyms, yoga centres, and clubs can operate till 4 pm, why not Central Park,” said Mohnish Sharma, a resident of Sodala area.

The visitors said that since the park is open for only three hours, it leads to overcrowding in the morning.
