Jodhpur: SE (Discom rural), AEN arrested by ACB for accepting bribe of Rs 25,000

Jaipur: In a major trap, the Rajasthan police’s anti-corruption bureau (ACB) arrested superintendent engineer (SE) of Jodhpur discom (rural) Madan Meghwal and his junior AEN Manoj Dewra after they were allegedly caught taking bribe. They were booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Interrogation with them is going on.
One Swaroop Singh had registered a complaint against the two officers when they allegedly demanded bribe to increase the power load and provide LT metering, according to an ACB officer.
“We verified the complaint and when it was found to be genuine, we laid a trap on Tuesday. Manoj was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 at the behalf of SE Madan Meghwal. Both were arrested,” said the officer.
The trap was organized under the supervision of ACB DSP Jagdish Soni.
“Searches are going on at the office, homes and other places belonging to the two officers,” said the ACB officer.
