Jaipur: A 20-year-old girl, Meena Puri, was mowed down by a speeding truck near Veer Durgapura multilevel railway over bridge (ROB) in Jodhpur on Friday. The girl was on a scooty with her sister and returning home after buying textbooks from Jalori Gate when the mishap occurred. The girl’s famiy members said that the girl was a second year student at KN College in Jodhpur.
Meena who was killed in accident in Jodhpur
Meena, a resident of Bhagat Ki Kothi on Pali Road area died on the spot. The mishap occurred near a hotel run by the local municipal corporation.
“A tanker approaching from opposite direction rammed into her scooty. She sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot,” said a police officer.
The body was put in the mortuary of MDM Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Her sister, Nikita was also injured. She was discharged from hospital after primary treatment.
The police seized the truck and arrested its driver for rash and negligent driving.
