Jodhpur AIIMS nursing student commits suicide in hostel room
The deceased has been identified as Rajni Dhanwal (23), a resident of the sector- 56 in Chandigarh. She was a third-year student of Nursing at AIIMS and was living in room number 519 on the fourth floor of the AIIMS girls’ hostel.

Jaipur: A girl, a third-year nursing student committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jodhpur on Sunday. This is the second suicide case at AIIMS Jodhpur in one and a half months.
The deceased has been identified as Rajni Dhanwal (23), a resident of the sector- 56 in Chandigarh. She was a third-year student of Nursing at AIIMS and was living in room number 519 on the fourth floor of the AIIMS girls’ hostel.
According to police, the information of suicide at AIIMS girls’ hostel was received around 10 pm on Sunday. A team of FSL experts and police rushed to the spot and found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan of her hostel room. Police got the body off and shifted it to AIIMS mortuary. A postmortem examination will be done after the family members of the deceased reach Jodhpur from Chandigarh.
During the preliminary investigation, the friends of Rajani have told the police that she had been upset for many days as she fell out with her friend who stopped talking to her. Her friend stopped receiving her calls a few days ago. She might have taken this step due to this.
Further investigation is going on, a police officer said.
The police would record statement of her friends, teachers and relatives. The mobile call details are also being examined. The police didn’t recover any suicide note.
