Jalore Income Tax Officer (ITO) Jawaan Singh Chaaran booked under NDPS Act after CBI raid

Jaipur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered property worth crores rupees with jewelry and 600 gm weed (opium) from the house of Jalore Income Tax Officer (ITO) Jawaan Singh Chaaran on Tuesday. A case has been registered against the officer under NDPS Act with Pali police station.
Another case was registered against ITO officer Charan for amassing disproportionate assets and for having property more than known source of his income on Monday.
The teams of CBI raided his Jalore’s office along with his houses in Pali and Jodhpur. Documents showing ownership of properties worth crores of rupees, jewelry worth lakhs of rupees along with 600 gm opium ware rcovered from the locations.
As per preliminary investigation, Charan has a three-story house in Khari Kalan village of Jodhpur with an estimated value of Rs 1 crore. However, the cost of this bungalow is around Rs 3 crore as per the market price. Apart from this, Charan has two residential plots in Rajendra Nagar of Pali which is of 1500 and 2100 square feet, one residential house in Jodhpur, two plots of 1500 and 1000 sq. feet in Jalore, two cars, and a bike.
Pali SP Rahul Prakash confired that a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) has been registered against Jawan Singh Charan. Further investigation is going on.
