Jaipur: ‘State Cancer Institute’ on RUHS premises in Pratap Nagar soon

Jaipur:  A ‘State Cancer Institute’ will soon be opened on the premises of Rajasthan University of Health and Sciences (RUHS) in Pratap Nagar. Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital administration will oversee the project.

The capacity of the institute is 60 beds and the project cost is Rs 120 crore, said officials.

According to the officials, the construction work for the State Cancer Institute on RUHS premises has been completed. The services will start soon.

The institute will offer advanced technological amenities and treatments to the cancer patients. The sections of the institute include Radiotherapy, medical oncology, surgical oncology, nuclear medicine, pathology and radiodiagnosis, added officials.

Other technological advancements include Linear escalator, CT stimulator, six modulator operation theatre, X-Ray, Sonography, Mammography and Elastography along with others.

Also, a new project at SMS hospital – 211 bed’s Multi Super Specialty Wing – is being developed. The construction work is going on, said the administration officials.

According to Principal of SMS Medical College Dr. Sudhir Bhandari, treatments and tests of patients under Nephrology, urology, and gastro will be conducted under one roof at newly developed super specialty wing at SMSH. The wing has the capacity of 211 beds.

Also, the construction work of ‘State Cancer Institute’ at RUHS is complete. It will soon be functional, added Bhandari.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated Shriram Cancer-Super Specialty Center on March 5.

According to the officials, the specialty center will provide all the technologically upgraded medical facilities at minimal prices in the city. Cancer affected patients will be benefit from these new services.
