Jaipur schools start suspending offline classes; 17 new Covid-19 cases in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Some private schools in Jaipur have started discontinuing offline classes amid reports of a new Covid-19 variant coming from other parts of the world. The schools and parents are already concerned about the rising number of active cases in the city. Jaipur and Ajmer have become the new hotspots for the Covid-19 spread.

Sophia Senior Secondary became the first school to discontinue offline classes. The students will attend online classes from November 19. On Sunday, 17 new Covid-29 cases were reported in the state.  Of them, eight were reported in Jaipur. The active number of cases has gone up to 199 in the state.

Minister Ashok Gehlot recently took a review meeting regarding Covid-19. He instructed the officials to ensure that the people follow social distancing and other guidelines strictly. Those not fully vaccinated should get their second job as soon as possible, Gehlot said.

Jaipur is becoming the new hotspot in Rajasthan. Besides Jaipur, the cases have started increasing in Ajmer as well for the last few days. The number of active cases in Ajmer has gone up to 30, which is the second-highest in the state. The number of active cases in Jaipur reached 104. Yet another student of a private school tested positive for Covid-19.
