Jaipur: Patients at Sawai Man Singh Hospital (SMSH) in Jaipur have been stranded due to the ongoing strike of resident doctors on Tuesday. They are protesting against the lack of security arrangements for doctors in the hospitals after a woman resident doctor was allegedly beaten up by the relatives of a patient at Kanwantia hospital in Jaipur on Monday night.

Surgeries and treatments are bound to be delayed due to the protest by resident doctors. They started boycotting work on Monday night.

According to the reports, a woman resident doctor at Kanwantia hospital was allegedly beaten up late on Monday.

After the incident, the resident doctors of SMS medical college raised a question mark on the lack of security for resident doctors.

The resident doctors in all government hospitals of the city are demanding proper security measures for the doctors and police action against the manhandling with the woman resident doctor.

The hospital and medical college authorities are trying to convince the doctors against the strike and asking them to resume work but in vain.
