Jaipur: In a clear sign that the spread of COVID-19 is now contained to some extent, Jaipur reported the lowest number of coronavirus positive cases in 126 days on Saturday.

Only 139 positive cases were reported in the city. It’s good news for Jaipurites as the Jaipur has been the worst affected city in Rajasthan. The positive cases had crossed 700 during the peak.

On November 30, as many as 745 people had tested positive for the virus. This came down to 139 on Saturday. Only Jhotwara, Jagatpura and Mansarovar reported more than 10 cases. The number of cases in most areas was less than 7.

The number of positive cases is on a decline across the state. Only 758 positive cases were reported in the state on Saturday.

The medical and health department officials; however, warned people not to drop their guard. They advised that the people should continue to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

The officials are worried about the new strain of the virus which spreads faster. About 820 people who returned from Britain were tracked down. Of them, seven tested positive for the virus in Rajasthan. Five of them are in Udaipur alone.

All the district collectors have been put on high alert regarding this.
