Jaipur reports less than 100 COVID-19 positive cases for the first time in 6 months

Jaipur: The spread of COVID is slowing down in Jaipur – the worst affected city in Rajasthan. After a period of nearly six months, the city reported only 76 positive cases on Monday. The number of cases less than 100 per day were being reported in June. In fact, Jaipur reported fewer cases than Jodhpur where 100 people tested positive for the virus on Monday.
The reducing number of cases are a good sign, the but medical and health department officials said that the people should not get careless as a new wave of virus spread may come in the near future.
Jhowara was the only area where positive cases were reported in double digits. The area reported 15 cases. Nine people tested positive in Vaishali Nagar, 6 in Malviya Nagar, 5 in Ajmer Road, 4 in Vidhyadhar Nagar, 3 in Tonk Road and two each in Sodala, Banipark and Bhankrota. Only one person tested positive in Mansarovar where the highest number of cases were being reported. Other areas where only one case was reported include Shashtri Nagar, Muralipura, Jagatpura, Govindgarh, Gopalpura, Durgapura, C-Scheme, Civil Lines, Bhramapuri and Adarsh Nagar.
The total number of positive cases has gone up to 56874. The virus has claimed 498 lives. There are 3029 active cases in Jaipur now.
