Jaipur: ‘Navras’ at Jawahar Kala Kendra from Feb 16 to Feb 24

Several famous personalities from music, dance, and theatre industries will be part of the eight-day long art festival.

Jaipur: ‘Navras’ – a famous art festival of Jaipur, is all set to commence at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) from February 16. The festival will conclude on February 24.

Several famous personalities from music, dance, and theatre industries will be part of the eight-day long art festival. The final preparations for the event are currently going on at JKK.

The central committee will spend around Rs 1.45 crore on this event, which will be supervised under a private firm.

The festival will start on February 16 with a special dance performance by Manjari Chaturvedi. She is famous for her Sufi Kathak dance style.

The Morning Raag on the second day of the fest will be presented by flute sisters, Debopriya and Suchismita Chatterjee. The day will conclude with a session ‘Kissebaazi’ in which Danish Hussain will interact with the audience. A drama ‘Chuhal’ by Manav Kaul will be presented in the evening.

A play named ‘Eidgaah ki Jannat’ will be performed under the direction of theatre director Abhishek Majumdar on February 18 followed by a play named ‘Bandish 20’ by Purva Naresh on February 19.

A contemporary dance performance will be presented by Navom Art foundation on February 20.

Aruna Sairam, who is well known for her Karnataka music style will perform on February 21. She has been felicitated with Kalanidhi award for her singing.

  • February 22 – ‘Gazab Kahaani’ by Mohit Takalkar
  • February 23 – ‘Stand on the Street’ by Aruna Ganesh Ram
  • February 24 – ‘Morning Raag’ by Chhannulal Mishra and several performance and interactions by Rasika Agashe and Ram Sampat.
