Jaipur: Jaipur police have arrested one Rajveer Singh for allegedly defrauding employed youths of more than Rs 90 lakh in the name of getting them recruited in the secretariat and Indian Army. The police are also probing the role of an army colonel in the fraud.
The accused Rajveer Singh originally hails from Ganganagar and has been living in Jhotwara for the past few years. Sources said that he was preparing to fight upcoming assembly election from Ganganagar region.
Rajeev manipulated more than 50 unemployed men and conned them into giving him money for getting a job as a fourth-class employee in Rajasthan Secretariat and in the Army.
In the name of conducting the interview for the job, the accused took them to Secretariat. For getting them jobs in the army, Rajveer took them for medical and physical ability tests at Army Campus in Banipark and Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium.
Many of the victims are from middle-class family and couldn’t afford the fees Rajveer asked them to deposit. Anyhow, they arranged the money by taking out loans. Rajvir sent a fake notice of the income tax department to victims asking how they arranged the money to give it to Rajveer. Some of the victims got scared and to avoid any conflict with the tax department, they did not ask for their money back from Rajveer.
Rajveer allegedly confessed that the accused were asking their money back and to prevent them from visiting his office, he come up with a shocking pretext. He said that the applicants had some physical issues with their legs, so they will be operated upon.
