Jaipur: License of 12 medical stores suspended for 2-15 days

Jaipur: A team of the drug control department conducted surprise inspections of medical stores in Jaipur and found gross irregularities. The license of 12 medical stores was suspended for 2-15 days for alleged irregularities.

Drug Controller Rajaram Sharma said that surprise inspections are being on a daily basis in response to the complaints regarding the black marketing of drugs used in the treatment of Covid-19 and their sale at arbitrary prices in the city.

The medical stores located at the Eternal Health Care Center and Research Hospital at Jawahar Circle, Rukmani Birla Hospital at Gopalpura Bypass, Metro Mass Hospital at Mansarovar, and Manipal Hospital at Vidhyadhar Nagar were inspected. He said that the license of these medical stores was suspended for a few days when it was found that Remedesvir vials were being sold at these hospitals at a price higher than the rates fixed by the state government. Assistant Drug Controller Dinesh Taneja said that bogus customers were sent to CKS Life Care, DS Pharma and Lifeline Medicos of Sanganer, Surya Enterprises of JLN Marg, Bhagyashree Medicos & Provision Store of Malviya Nagar, Omashiv Medical & Departmental Store located at 22 Godown, Life Saver Store of Nehru Bazaar and Sri Narayana Meical & Departmental Store of Muralipura.

These stores were caught selling medicines used for the treatment of Covid-19 without prescriptions and bills and in absence of a registered pharmacist. Some were found charging arbitrary prices for medical equipment masks.
