Jaipur: Fire at auto parts godown in Jalupura creates panic

Jaipur: A major fire broke out at Ravat Auto Parts godown in Jalupura area near MI Road on Friday, creating panic among residents. The fire engulfed the entire building within minutes.
The fire spread to some nearby shops, but it was controlled on time. The fire could have been catastrophic, had it spread, officials said. There were no reports of any loss of life, however property worth lakhs of rupees were gutted.
The auto parts godown is situated in Navab Kallan Ka Bagh area in Jalupura. According to preliminary reports, when the fire broke out, nearly shopkeepers tried to douse the fire on their own, but when it spread to nearby shops, they informed the fire department and police control room. Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot.
It took six fire tenders nearly two hours to douse the fire.
The fire department has launched an investigation to determine what triggered the fire.
