Jaipur: Depressed over girlfriend’s suicide, 23-year-old shoots self in car

Jaipur: A 23-year-old man, identified as Karani Singh committed suicide by shooting himself with his father’s licensed pistol near Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur on Sunday. Police have recovered a suicide note from the car in which the deceased shot himself.

The neighbours of the victim have reportedly told the police that the man was depressed since his girlfriend committed suicide. He shot himself near the cremation ground where the last rites of the girl were performed. Karni however didn’t mention the reason in his suicide note and requested his brother to take care of their parents.

The incident that happened near Shyam Nagar cremation ground located on Banad road near Kardhani area created panic in the area.

Kardhani police with FSL team rushed to the spot after getting the information and sent the body to Kanwatia hospital for a postmortem examination.

According to the police, the deceased in his suicide note asked his brother Vicky and sister to take care of their parents. He said that there is no reason left for him to live so he is committing suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Karani Singh (23), a resident of Shyam Nagar area. Karni’s father Mahendra Singh is originally from Sikar and retired from BSF. He is currently posted in a private firm as a security officer.

Mahendra used to keep his pistol in a suitcase in his room. Karni got the pistol from his father’s room on Sunday noon and drove away from his house in his car to the cremation ground and shot himself.

According to some locals, Karni’s girlfriend committed suicide on Saturday. Karni was disturbed due to this. He committed suicide in the same cremation ground where his girlfriend was cremated.

Further investigation is going on.
