Jaipur-Delhi Highway (NH-8) accident: 4 killed, 1 injured near Kotputli

Jaipur: Four people died on the spot, while one was severely wounded after a truck went out of control and crashed into a pick-up near Kotputli on Delhi-Jaipur National Highway (NH-8). The incident happened near the Dental College on National Highway-8 on Tuesday morning.
The police and rescue teams rushed to the spot. According to preliminary reports, the victims were sitting in the pick-up.
The pick-up’s driver died on the spot with three others succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital. The dead bodies have been put in the mortuary and efforts were being made to identify the victims.
Some commuters informed the police control room following which police teams and senior police and administration officers rushed to the spot. They launched a rescue operation. The rescue teams faced a lot of difficulty in pulling the bodies stuck inside the pick-up out.
The incident caused panic on the highway that led to a traffic jam. Traffic piled up on both sides of the accident spot on this busy national highway. The police had to tow away both the vehicles to clear the road.
Five injured victims were rushed to a hospital in Kotputli where doctors declared four of them dead. A case for rash and negligent driving has been registered against the truck driver.
Further investigation is going on.
