Instead of gyms, people head to Yoga camps on International Day of Yoga in Jaipur

Thousands of people participated in various Yoga camps organized on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga in Jaipur. Yoga camps were organized at various places in the city including SMS Stadium and Vidhyadhar Nagar’s Alankar Plaza.

Jaipur: The world record of yoga practice was set in Kota where more than 2 lakh people are claimed to have participated in a camp and got yoga tips from Baba Ramdev, but the Jaipurites were not legging behind when it came to showing their love for this ancient mental and physical fitness discipline.

Thousands of people participated in various Yoga camps organized on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga in Jaipur. Yoga camps were organized at various places in the city including SMS Stadium and Vidhyadhar Nagar’s Alankar Plaza.

The Yoga camp at Alankar Plaza in Vidhyadhar Nagar was organized by Sankalpa Se Siddhi. Organizers claimed that more than 2000 people participated in camp and learned various postures of Yoga.

“We encouraged people to make Yoga part of their daily life. It will not only keep them physically fit, but also help them lead their life with peace and harmony,” said co-coordinator of the event Pradeep Khetan.

Khetan told The PinkCity Post that many political bigwigs attended the function.

“We were happy to see people from all generations – from children to elderlies – participate in the event. It shows that people are increasingly becoming aware of the benefits of Yoga,” said Khetan. Free T-shirts were distributed to participants after the camp.

The biggest yoga camp was held in Kota where Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje practiced Yoga next to Yoga guru Baba Ramdev.

Ramdev told the participants that incorporating yoga in daily life can bring about positive change not only in one’s life, but also in the society at large.
