Industrialist burnt alive as Mercedes catches fire after collision with truck on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

JAIPUR: A tragic accident resulted in the death of an industrialist, identified as Rajan Gupta, after his car collided with a trailer on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Alwar district early Sunday morning around 1 am. The car, a Mercedes, caught fire following the collision, leading to a deadly situation for the vehicle’s occupants.

The two passengers headed from Alwar to Delhi, were pulled from the burning vehicle by the expressway’s medical staff who broke the window to extract them. However, Rajan Gupta, an industrialist residing in Model Town, Delhi, suffered severe burns in the incident and succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

Tulsiram Sharma, a resident of Masari Kathumar who was also in the vehicle, was seriously injured and remains in critical condition. He was initially taken to Alwar General Hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to Jaipur.

Police identified the deceased, Rajan Gupta, as the owner of an industrial company based in Alwar. Gupta had been traveling to Delhi from Alwar at the time of the incident.

Gupta had plans to establish another large plant in Alwar. He had recently purchased land for this purpose and frequently traveled between Delhi and Alwar for business matters.
