Honey trap gang: Mother-daughter duo duped people in Delhi too
Jaipur: A day after three women including a mother-daughter duo were arrested for allegedly blackmailing a businessman on the basis of a bogus rape case, the city police revealed that the gang was involved in duping people in Delhi too. They have five cases registered with Delhi police, officials said.
The police on Sunday arrested Anuradha (43), her mother Moli (67) and their caretaker Chinki (28), residents of Greater Kailash in Delhi. The three women were allegedly blackmailing a Vaishali Nagar-based stock market and solar plant businessman.
They had registered an FIR against the victim and then demanded Rs 15 lakh. They had already taken Rs 6.47 lakh from him for turning hostile in the case. They were arrested on Sunday while they were taking the remaining amount of Rs 8.50 lakh a hotel on Tonk Road in the city.
“This gang had been active in Delhi where they have at least five fraud cases registered against them. The 67-year-old woman was chargesheeted for a murder in Goa,” said a police officer.
Their caretaker Chinki would call up the victims identifying herself as a member of human rights commission and pressurized them to reach a compromise with the mother-daughter duo.
Anuradha had registered an FIR with Jawahar Nagar police station accusing the businessman of raping her at a hotel situated on JLN Marg on July 16. She demanded Rs 15 lakh for changing her statement in the case.
