Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s biography to be included in RBSE textbooks

The chapter will mainly focus on the Vajpayee’s achievements including the nuclear test in Pokhran, reservations to Jats, his visit to border areas after Kargil war, pilgrimage to Ajmer and his connection to Rajasthan. It will also include his contribution to the nation as a politician and Prime Minister.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan education Minister Vasudev Devnani has proposed to the sate academics curriculum committee that a chapter on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should be included in school textbooks. The chapter is to be added in textbooks of all schools affiliated with Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) Board as per the proposal.

Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be the only prime minister whose biography will be included in RBSE textbooks.

The chapter will mainly focus on the Vajpayee’s achievements including the nuclear test in Pokhran, reservations to Jats, his visit to border areas after Kargil war, pilgrimage to Ajmer and his connection to Rajasthan. It will also include his contribution to the nation as a politician and Prime Minister.

The committee is scheduled to hold a meeting in the last week of September before the code of conduct will come into force and the proposal may come up for discussion, sources said.

Devnani said, “it is very important for the young generation to know about the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ contribution to the nation. He was one of the greatest statesmen and leaders of the country.”
