Eve-teasing victim commits suicide by jumping into canal in Kota

Jaipur: Depressed over eve-teasing and harassment by two youths, a girl committed suicide by jumping into a canal near Kaithoon town in Kota district. Her body was recovered on Monday three days after she jumped into the canal. The police have recovered a suicide note in which she accused two youths of eve-teasing and harassment. Further investigation is going on.
The deceased was a resident of Kota and preparing for competitive exams. She mentioned in her suicide note, which was recovered from her bag that she was being harassed by two youths. She was unable to bear the pressure due to which she committed suicide.
According to the girl’s father, he reported the harassment incident with his daughter to the police a week ago, but the local police let off the two accused with a warning.
After a few days, the two accused again started harassing her. She got depressed over it and jumped into the canal to commit suicide on December 14.
The family members of the girl are demanding speedy probe into the matter. They want strict actions against the accused men.
The police officials have not disclosed the identity of the deceased and her family members.
