Jaipur: The tourist season in Jaipur has begun and a lot of domestic as well as international tourists are arriving in the Pink City. When it comes to enjoying fun activities in the city, elephant ride and a visit to Elephant Village are on the top of the to-do list of most tourists. While elephant lovers have been enjoying elephant ride at Amer Fort for a long time, they can now give jumbos a bath and feed them with their own hands at Elephant Village.
“The Elephant Village has become a popular tourist destination in Jaipur. We have added some more activities that the tourists can enjoy at the village. Now they can feed the elephants and give them a bath,” said a senior tourist department officer.
Domestic tourists need to pay Rs 55 and foreign tourists Rs 320 as entry fee when visiting the Elephant Village.
Here are charges for some other activities in the village:
The fee for elephant riding at Amer Fort is different from that in Elephant Village.
Tourists can visit the Elephant Village from 11 am to 5.30 pm.
“All the 95 elephants used for riding at Amber Fort were medically examined. They were found to be fit and healthy. We have elephants weighting about 3000 kg. The elephants are in the age group ranging from 12 years to 45 years,” said the officer.
