Dushyant murder case: Priya Seth, two others sentenced to life imprisonment

JAIPUR: Three persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a district court in connection with the infamous Dushyant Sharma murder case in Jaipur that took place in 2018. The accused, Priya Seth, Dikshant Kamra, and Lakshya Walia, were found guilty of killing Dushyant Sharma who was lured to a flat through a dating app.

According to the police report, Priya had conspired to kidnap Dushyant to pay off her boyfriend Dikshant’s debts. The trio took Dushyant hostage and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from his father. When Dushyant’s father deposited Rs 3 lakh in his account, the accused strangled him to death and stabbed him multiple times to hide his identity. They then packed his body in a suitcase and threw it in the hills of Amer.

The police investigation revealed that Priya had used dating apps to lure young men and blackmail them for money. The FSL and DNA reports also confirmed the accused’s involvement in the crime.

The case was thoroughly investigated by the police, and the accused were arrested on May 4, 2018. The trial was conducted at the district court, and the accused were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The victim’s father, Rameshwar Prasad, expressed his gratitude to the lawyers who represented him and advocate Sandeep Luhadia, who fought the case for free. Dushyant was the only child left by his father, and his death has left a devastating impact on the family.
