Deadline for admission applications extended to July 23 for RU colleges
Jaipur: The deadline for applying for admission in Rajasthan University has been extended to July 23. The decision has been taken to accommodate CBSE students who have not been able to apply yet because the results of senior secondary examinations are yet to be announced by the board.
According to Prof. SL Sharma – The Convener of the Admission Committee of the University, the last date for online application was July 7 earlier. But the last date of application has been extended to July 23 as the CBSE board exam results have not been declared.
“RU admissions are based on percentile formula. While RBSE students have already applied for admissions in RU-affiliated colleges, the CBSE students are waiting for their results. For this reason, the last date for admissions has been extended,” he said.
The process of admission to undergraduate courses started at Rajasthan University on June 24. The students applied for admission in BA, B.Com, B.Sc Pass course / Honours course as well as certificate course/diploma, BCA, BBA, BPA in Maharani College, Maharaja College, Commerce College and Rajasthan College.
But as the CBSE results have not been declared, only RBSE students were able to apply for admission. In such a situation, the RU administration has decided to give relief to the students of CBSE.
Earlier on Thursday, the NSUI supporters demonstrated demanding the extension of the date of admission. They also made five-point demands. A large number of students gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor’s secretariat and shouted slogans.
