Dausa: Assistant account officer and clerk of excise department arrested by ACB for taking bribe

Jaipur: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested assistant account officer Omprakash Singhal and a junior clerk Damodar Prasad Meena deputed at district excise department of Dausa after they were allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
IG, ACB Sachin Mittal said that one Dhara Singh Gujjar approached the ACB and registered the complaint against the duo.
“The complainant said that he had deputed a security amount of Rs 1.67 lakh for a liquor shop. When he approached the duo to get the money back, Damodar and Om Prakash Singhal demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000,” said the officer.
After verifying the complaint, ACB’s Dausa team laid a trap under the supervision of add SP Krishna Kant Sharma.
“The two were trapped accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 red-handed and arrested under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on,” said the officer.
