Jaipur: People suspected of coronavirus infection can now be screened at SMS Hospital. Blood samples can be tested for the virus in Jaipur. They were being sent to National Virology Institute in Pune for testing but since the testing has begun in the city, determining whether a suspected person is infected with the virus or not will take less time.

According to additional chief secretary (medical and health department) Rohit Kumar Singh, the state will get report of blood samples quicker by launching.

“Many people are volatility coming forward to get themselves tested for the virus. They include those who have come to Jaipur from the countries where the virus has spread. We are putting up banners and sign boards at the airport, bus stands, railway stations and nation highways. We have also launched a helpline number,” said Singh.

Many people from Ajmer, Sikar, Bikaner and other parts of the state have contacted the medical and health department.

He added that three people who were suspected of virus infection in Bikaner have been tested negative.

“We received a report from Pune today. There is no need for panic or concern because we don’t have any confirmation of the virus infection in the state so far,” said Singh.

A man who was quarantined in SMS Hospital has been tested negative. He was allowed to leave the hospital after the doctors received his blood sample report.
