Coronavirus cases go up to 56 in Rajasthan; 2 more tests positive

Jaipur: Two more people tested positive for Coronavirus – one each in Bhilwara and Jhunjhunu. The total number of cases have gone up to 56 in Rajasthan. The 21-year-old youth who tested positive in Jhunjhunu had returned from Philippines recently. The Bhilwara woman is 53-year-old. She contracted the virus at Bangad Hospital where the Coronavirus outbreak had started in Bhilwara.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in Bhilwara now stand at 25. The number of cases in 10 in Jaipur, 7 in Jhunjhunu, 6 in Jodhpur, 2 in Pratapgarh, 2 in Dungarpur and one each in Ajmer, Pali, Sikar and Churu.   

Though there are no indication of community spread phase in Rajasthan, the experts are worried that if the people kept violating the lockdown, it may become difficult to contain the spread in some parts of the state.

What has left the government worried is the fact that thousands of people from Gujarat, Maharashtra and other states have come to Sirohi, Jalore, Pratapgarh and other districts. The governments of these states didn’t screen these people when they left the places of work and returned home in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, two more Air India flights airlifted 275 Indian nationals and brought them to Jodhpur. They have been lodged in a Wellness Centre set up by the army. According to preliminary reports, none of these people have tested positive for the virus so far.
