Constable murder in Tonk: FIR registered against 4 people

Jaipur: A 28-year-old constable, identified as Mukesh Choudhary was stabbed to death in Mehndawas village of Tonk district on Friday night. The victim’s brother has lodged an FIR against four identified people. However, the FIR doesn’t cite the reason what could be the possible motive behind the murder. This is second case of a policeman’s murder in the state in the past 15 days. Head constable Abdul Gani was murdered in Bheem police station area of Rajsamand district.

Mukesh was deputed in the Tonk reserve police lines. He had gone to Mehndawas bus stand on his bike around 6 pm when he was ambushed by the unidentified assailants. They repeatedly stabbed him. He was seriously injured, but he managed to reach a nearby hotel pleading for help. Mukesh was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

 Mukesh got married a year ago. His wife was expecting. The news of his murder shocked the family members and local villagers. The people from community staged a protest outside the police station demanding arrest of the murderers. They insisted on placing the body in front of the police station and demonstrate, but the senior police officers somehow placated the protestors.

No arrest has been made in the case yet. The officials said that they were trying to determine the motive behind the murder. Further investigation is going on.
