Congress President Rahul Gandhi to address farmers rally in Jaipur tomorrow

Senior Congress leaders said that farmers played an important role in the Congress coming to power in Rajasthan. Rahul Gandhi wants to thank farmers for their support to the party. The rally is being seen as the start of campaigning in Rajasthan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Jaipur: Congress national president Rahul Gandhi will address a farmers rally at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

The party workers have made all the preparations to make Rahul Gandhi’s rally a success in Jaipur. A meeting was held at Pradesh Congress Committee office in Jaipur on Monday to discuss the final preparations of ‘Kissaan Aaabhar’ rally. The meeting was presided over by State minister of forest, environment, food and civil supply Sukhram Bishnoi.

Thousands of farmers are expected to reach Jaipur from many districts of Rajasthan for the rally. Rahul Gandhi will start his address at 11 am.

Senior Congress leaders said that farmers played an important role in the Congress coming to power in Rajasthan. Rahul Gandhi wants to thank farmers for their support to the party. The rally is being seen as the start of campaigning in Rajasthan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This will be his first rally in Jaipur after the assembly elections 2018, in which Congress emerged as the winning party and formed the government in Rajasthan.

The Congress has already started campaigning on social media platforms for upcoming Lok Sabha elections which will likely take place in April- May, 2019.

The Congress promised in its elected manifesto to waive off farmers loans after coming to power. The party waived loan up to Rs 2 lakh of farmers who are delinquent on their agriculture loans. According to party officials, the support of the farmers will again be a game changer for them in the parliamentary elections.
