CISF SI MP Godara from Churu in Rajasthan dies in Antyodaya Bhawan fire

Jaipur: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub inspector from Churu district of Rajasthan identified as MP Godara (53) died while evacuating people from Antyodaya Bhawan in New Delhi where a massive fire broke out on Wednesday. He died of suffocation, said doctors.

The police team rushed him to a nearby hospital when they found him unconscious on the floor at Antyodaya Bhawan. The doctors declared him dead upon the arrival.

The deceased Sub Inspector MP Godara (53) is a resident of Churu district of Rajasthan. He was posted in New Delhi. His family members were informed and his funeral took place on Wednesday.

According to the police, a major fire broke out at the fifth floor of CGO complex. The fire was so massive that it took 24 fire tenders several hours to control it. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.

As soon as the information about the fire was received by the police control room, SI Godara rushed to the spot and went into the complex to rescue people from the building. Godara helped people until he fell unconscious. The police team rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot also tweeted, ‘My tributes to #Churu, #Rajasthan’s braveheart CISF, SI/Exe Sh. MP Godara who laid his life at the altar of duty yesterday while completing fire and evacuation drill when the fire broke out Antyodaya Bhawan in Delhi. My heartfelt condolences to his family in this most difficult time’
