Jaipur: Private hospitals not treating Covid-19 patients under the Mukhya Mantri Chiranjeevi Health Scheme is a common complaint; however, there was no platform to register these complaints. This has changed with the Rajasthan government launching a helpline number. People can call on this number to complain when their insurance claims under Chiranjeevi Yojana are not accepted by private hospitals. The toll-free number is 1800 180 6127.

Several private hospitals have been registered under the scheme in Jaipur and across the state. Many of these government hospitals were not providing cashless treatment to Covid-19 patients even if the latter were covered by Chiranjeevi Scheme.

“We have launched this helpline number to make it easier for people to bring this to the notice of the government,” said an official.

The private hospitals on the other hand alleged that they were yet to get the money against claimed filed under Bhamashah Yojana. The chances were that they were going to face the same issue for this government health scheme also. In fact, about 10 private hospitals have filed applications to withdraw their registration under the scheme.

Nearly 1.31 crore families have registered so far under the scheme. Every family gets free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh per annum.
