Chaugan Stadium multilevel parking project to be completed by March

Two-storey underground parking project at Chaugan Stadium is estimated to cost around Rs 15 crore. The parking will be able to accommodate 300 two-wheelers and 300 four-wheelers.

Jaipur: Chaugan Stadium multilevel parking project in Jaipur is likely to be completed by March next year, senior Smart City Project officials said. The project will ease parking problem in the Walled City, they added.

The project being developed under the Smart City Mission will be thrown open for the public in 2019. More than 80% work has been completed. Two-storey underground parking project at Chaugan Stadium is estimated to cost around Rs 15 crore. The parking will be able to accommodate 300 two-wheelers and 300 four-wheelers.

According to the officials, the parking pressure in several surrounding areas including Chandpole, Chhoti Chaupar, Gangori Bazaar, Kishanpole, Tripolia, and Bramhapuri will ease.

The parking will be operated with help of the latest smart parking technologies. CCTVs and sensors will be installed to help commuters locate the parking space on the operator’s device.

The driver while entering the parking area will be able to determine availability of the parking space and the location where space is available. Other facilities including lift, fire safety system and escalators will also be available.

Smart City Project chief engineer Ramesh Sharma said that the new three parking zones will be opened for the public in Jaipur in 2019. The aim of these parking projects is to reduce the parking and traffic pressure in several areas including JLN Marg, Gaurav Tower, Tonk Road, Chhoti Chaupar, Gangori Bazaar, Bramhpuri, Govinddev Ji temple, Tripolia, Chandpole, Jhotwara and Station Road.
