CA student shot dead, murder creates panic in Jhotwara
After firing at Amarchand, the two shooters fled the spot on a bike. Eyewitnesses saw them going towards Jhotwara flyover. The police rushed to the victim to the hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Jaipur: A youth, identified as Amar Chand Sharma, was shot dead by two unidentified men just 200 meters from Jhotwara police station on Thursday night. The victim was the final year CA student. After firing at Amarchand, the two shooters fled the spot on a bike. Eyewitnesses saw them going towards Jhotwara flyover. The police rushed the victim to the hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The police have launched an investigation.
Amar Chand Sharma was a resident of Benar Road near Shyampura Extension. The cops identified him on the basis of an ID card recovered from his clothes. A police team went to the victim’s house and confirmed the identity. Amar Chand was the cousin of former JMC councilor Kaushal Sharma.
“Amar Chand sustained bullet injuries near his neck. The culprits shot him at a point blank range. It has come up during investigation that Amar Chand was on his way to his house when two people stopped him and started a conversion on the roadside. One of them took out a gun and fired at him,” said a police officer.
The body of the victim has been put in the mortuary of a hospital for a postmortem examination. The police put up barricades across the city to catch the shooters, but to no avail. The police didn’t rule out the possibility that Amar Chand Sharma was acquainted with the shooters.
