Bikaner: Discom AEN arrested by ACB for accepting bribe
The accused officer was allegedly demanding bribe to make corrections in an electricity bill. He has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a Discom AEN, identified as Mahendra Meena for taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 in Bikaner. The accused officer was allegedly demanding bribe to make corrections in an electricity bill. He has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on, said an ACB officer.
One Shrawan Ram had approached the ACB and lodged a complaint against Mahendra Meena, ACB officials said.
The Discom had sent an inflated electricity bill. Shrawan Ram approached Meena for a correction. The officer allegedly demanded a bribe.
“We laid the trap after verifying the complaint. The officer accepted Rs 10,000 from our complainant at the time of verification,” said the officer.
The officer added that the trap was organized on Thursday.
“Meena was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. The trap was organized under the supervision of Add SP, Bikaner Rajnish,” said the officer.
